Bargello designs originated as far back as the 16th century in needlepoint designs. The Bargello quilt patterns reflect the same stepped design as the traditional needlepoint, but endless variations are possible so every quilt is absolutely unique. Even though the idea of Bargello emerged hundreds of years ago, the pattern can be modernized and makes a dynamic, graphic statement that can satisfy anyone’s style. Cindy shows you how to make her Fire & Ice Bargello quilt wall hanging from start to finish. She gives lots of great pointers on how to choose the right fabrics for the black & white background and the bright pop of color to create the vibrant motion across the quilt and the very cool gradation. The black and white and bright color combination is dramatic, but you can use this technique with other color palettes too to create wall hangings, table runners, placemats, and more.
