Sewing For Beginners Made Easy!
Join Lee Chappell Monroe for an immersive step-by-step how-to-sew experience. You’ve bought your machine, and now it’s time to start stitching. While getting started can feel overwhelming, this course is designed to combine necessary information in one beginner-friendly environment. You’ll walk away with the confidence on how to choose fabric, use the right thread, mark up a pattern, and sew straight and curved lines. Sewing is a lifelong hobby and skill, and forming foundational knowledge with a sewing expert will seal the deal on your new love of stitching.
Guided by sewing expert instructor Lee Chappell Monroe, join her for 5 sets of two hour live sewing sessions. In your first session, you will (properly!) meet your sewing machine and learn about threads, needles, and how to avoid common problems. Armed with machine knowledge, you’ll move forward with lessons on tools, notions, and techniques, and then apply that knowledge to gussets, buttons, and straps. By the end of your third week, you’ll have finished your first project- making napkins with a zigzag stitch and woven fabric! Your final two weeks of the course will be spent creating a beautiful pillowcase with French seams and a sweet zippered pencil case. Congratulations, by the end of week 5, you are officially a sewist!
