Beth Helfter, an acclaimed author, pattern designer, and nationally recognized quilting instructor, lives by one rule: quilting should be fun. With a motto of "Inspired Designs, Relaxed Attitude," she infuses her patterns with visionary creativity and brings boundless encouragement to her students. Staid and typical designs are nowhere to be found in her repertoire.

As a devoted scrappy designer, Beth dives into her stash to craft patterns that reflect her keen sense of color and value. Her knack for balancing just a few color families in each palette keeps her scrappy quilts harmonious yet dynamic. Beth's innovative approach was showcased in Quiltmaker Magazine's 2014 Scrap Squad, where she breathed new life into designs using only scraps, showcasing different secondary designs and block highlights through thoughtful tonal variations.

Beth's passion for scraps led her to develop the Accordion Sewn HSTs™ method in 2017, revolutionizing half square triangle creation by eliminating the need for matching while minimizing fabric waste. Her acclaimed books, Oompah! Jazz Up Your Scrap Quilts With Accordion Sewn HSTs™ and Another Round of Oompah, have garnered praise for their transformative techniques.

Founder of EvaPaige Quilt Designs since 2005, Beth's scrappy patterns have graced the pages of quilting magazines and websites. An avid traveler and quilt teacher, she brings her expertise to guilds and quilt shows across the nation, fostering countless "ah-ha" moments in her classrooms.

Beth resides in Pepperell, MA, with her husband and a spirited cat who keeps life interesting.
