Leave your rulers and pins behind!  In my classes, precision is secondary to creativity, with very few hard rules to follow and lots of easy yet effective techniques to explore… and all against the backdrop of unique African textiles and embellishments.  In the end, you’ll not only make something beautiful, you’ll also “Feel the FABRIC… Embrace the CULTURE”

Fun Facts About Me...

I usually eyeball my seam allowances.

I put students at ease with clear instruction, patience and humor.

I encourage creativity and departure from the project as I designed it.

I offer honest feedback on the student’s work so they can achieve the desired effect.

Why Folks Love Learning From Lisa!

Great Ideas!

We had so many great comments about your presentation!  Thank you for joining us this morning.  I now know what I can finally do with my husband’s dashiki!  What a great way to keep it intact by using it as a background.

Loves Zippers Because of Lisa

Hi Lisa, had a great time visiting with you and learning how to make the bag. I made another bag and a small cosmetic bag. I now love putting zippers in! I'm also ordering more batik squares from you this weekend. Thanks so much.

Talented and Personable

On behalf of Smithtown Stitchers, and myself, thank you very much for your fascinating and beautiful presentation. Many of the members approached me, asking if you would be willing to do a workshop, and "as soon as possible"! They were thrilled. You are a very talented and personable woman, and I'm so glad that we had the opportunity to meet you. We're grateful to our member, Sue, who found you.

Found My Crafty Alter Ego

Lisa, you know I am not much of a crafter, but your crafts and designs inspire me to find that creative alter ego hiding within...

Satisfied Quilter

Just wanted to give you an update on my quilting project. I completed it. . . and I also made a pillow using the fabric that I used for the backing of the quilt. It all looks very nice and does wonder for the room. I really enjoyed the project and am looking forward to the next. Thanks so much for the creativity, talent, and patience.
